Do you sometimes find yourself fighting an uphill battle? Life just isn't going your way or delivering on what you had in mind? Every way you turn, it feels like there is an obstacle to overcome or a blockage to break through in order to 'achieve the goal'. Whatever that may be.
I know how you feel!
And I'm here to share with you what I do when life seems to be giving me donuts. Or brick walls.
Let it go & GO WITH THE FLOW
Rather than insisting on something, pushing and striving and struggling, I've now started to see lack of flow in my activities as a sign that my energy is best spent somewhere else.
Life wants us to flow with it, not against it. So drop the struggle I'll tell myself, stop resisting what is, breathe and wait until the flow comes back… And if it doesn't, well it's easy to look back with hindsight and see that it was never meant to be.
Responding to the moment
Over the past few months I started to trust that state of ‘flow’ more and more. To trust in what feels good and what I feel inspired by in that given moment rather than insisting on my earlier projected plans. My mind might think that it has the future all sorted, but the Universe always knows better.
As Eckhart Tolle, says:
"All you need to do is accept this moment fully. You are then at ease in the here and now and at ease with yourself...
Whatever the present moment contains, accept it as if you had chosen it. This will miraculously transform your whole life"
Which means if it aint flowing, accept that it’s not the right time. Switch your focus from what's not working to what is.
For other occasions it’s realising and coming to accept that things were always going to take longer than you thought they would!
Like finding a venue to hold a 1-day retreat in Perth. It’s taken a lot of searching but finally, the Universe has delivered a gem!
In fact, it was the same with the Margaret River retreat. I always had in mind to hold it at a particular location but after a week of trying to contact this venue, leaving messages & one abrupt phone call where I’d caught the owner at a bad time, it dawned on me… ‘Maybe I'm not supposed to hold it there after all’.
And you know what, within a few hours of that insight…I stumbled across a newly established (& B.E.A.U.T.I.F.U.L!) retreat venue that I never even knew of! And, snap…the flow returned. My phone calls were returned immediately, the owner was accommodating and shared my excitement. Compared to the earlier struggle, it was easy to feel that this was 'right'.
In letting go of what I thought was meant to happen, it created space for this new (and better) outcome to unfold.
FINDING THE BALANCE IN LIFE ISN’T EASY. IT’S AN ART FORM AND A CONSTANT PRACTICE of awareness.
While sometimes we need to let things go, other times we may need to push a little more, dig deep and get stubborn to manifest what we want.
Organising these retreats has been exactly that for me… standing by my vision... trusting what my heart is telling me... and allowing the Universe to deliver it in it’s own perfect way and time.
Things will always work out with the right amount of heart, persistence & patience.
How to know If you're in 'flow'
- Do you feel energised, excited and positive about the task your putting your attention to?
- Has there been coincidences or synchronicities that seem quite unusual and support you in the direction of your goal?
- Are things happening easily, smoothly and without stress?
- Do you feel that what you want to achieve will be of benefit to others and the world? Or in other words, do you feel that your goals are aligned with the broader Universe, the 'big picture', and extend beyond egoic desires & instant gratification?
If you answered yes to any of these, then there's definitely some flow happening! Keep going confidently in the direction of your dreams my dears!
Love, light & FLOW to you!
